If you have a driver’s license which took in your country, you can renew it.If you do that, you can drive a car in Japan.You need to go to a driver’s license center or a post office.
There are two condition of renewing it.One is you must stay in your country over 3 months after you take your driver’s license.Another is your driver’s license is available. You must take an examination and pass it.
When you renew it, you need 8 things.You must bring a black or blue ball-paint pen, money, picture of your face, translation of your driver’s license, a paper of foreigner registration, your passport, paper of resident registration, and your license.It costs sum of 5,500 yen.Be careful, if you cannot speak or write Japanese, you must take interpreter.
